new sony ericsson model

SonyEricsson Xperia X2

Sony Ericsson will come out with their new handphone. One of these was the announcement of the new Xperia X2 from SonyEricsson, the successor to the less than lukewarm-ly received Xperia X1. The X2, just like the X1, is a Windows Mobile phone, except that the X2 will run the latest and greatest mobile operating system from Microsoft, version 6.5.

Here are two “teaser” videos of the X2 from SonyEricsson representatives, focusing mainly on the “Panels” concept introduced by SonyEricsson in the Xperia X1. Essentially, panels is the term used by SonyEricsson to describe its implementation of a separate user interface layer on top of the core operating system of Windows Mobile, so it’s similar to Samsung’s TouchWiz and HTC’s TouchFlo3D, if you will. Panels are a way of organising information and applications on your mobile desktop. They can be customised by the user, and the user can additionally specifiy which panel or desktop to show at different times of the day – a neat concept which is slowly being picked up by the mobile phone hardware manufacturers out there.
